Apple TV+ scores record 53 Hollywood Critics Association Awards nominations

Apple TV + has garnered no less than 53 nominations for the Hollywood Critics Association Awards with Ted Lasso and Severance making them basically theirs. 53 nominations is a new record, with Central Park, Dickinson and Prehistoric Planet among some of the other nominees.

The nominations cover several categories with Severance and Ted Lasso in the categories of Best Drama and Best Comedy Broadcast, respectively, with a total of 12 nominations each.

Again, Ted Lasso is proving incredibly popular as we wait for his third season to air.

For the second year in a row, “Ted Lasso” is the most nominated comedy series, garnering numerous accolades, including Best Actor for Jason Sudeikis; Best Supporting Actress for Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple; and Best Supporting Actor for Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed and Toheeb Jimoh, plus four nominations for writing and directing. In addition, the holiday special titled “Ted Lasso Presents: The Missing Christmas Mustache” earned a nomination for Best Short Animation Series.

  • Slow Horses – Gary Oldman

Best Actor in a Limited Streaming Series or Movie or Anthology

  • The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray “- Samuel L. Jackson

Best series of docuseries or non-fiction streaming

Best Animated Series or Streaming TV Movie

The Hollywood Critics Association Awards will be presented during an event at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on August 14, 2022.
