Columbia State Community College honors Anesthesia Technology grads

Columbia State Community College recently honored nine graduates in anesthesia technology at a fixation ceremony at the Waymon L. Hickman Building.

“Our graduates are to be commended for meeting the challenges of a rigorous and demanding program,” said Sue Christian, director of the Columbia State Program and an adjunct professor of anesthesia technology.

“Columbia State’s anesthesia technology program has prepared these graduates to enter the field at a time of high demand for anesthesia technicians.”

The Associate Degree in Applied Science Anesthesia Technology degree includes two or more semesters of general education courses followed by a series of 12-month basic courses and three semesters designed to provide competencies in the classroom and clinics that provide students with the skills needed to pass the accreditation exam and immediate employment in the field.

“Columbia State has the only recognized anesthesia technology program in Tennessee and one of two in the Southeast for formal training in this growing field,” said Dr. Kae Fleming, dean of the science division of Tennessee. the health of the state of Columbia. “Spring graduates have unlimited opportunities for exciting, high-demand careers with excellent earning potential.”
