Contest for Grant County commissioner seat materializes with challenger’s newly-announced bid to unseat Cindy Carter | Columbia Basin
EPHRATA: Dan DeLano, of Ephrata, has the support of a group of local actors who believe that a change is needed in the district of the third commission of the county of Grant.
The seat for District 3 has been occupied by Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter for the past 16 years. Carter announced his intention to run for a fifth and final term several weeks ago.
DeLano says his campaign places great emphasis on working to build an open and accountable county government that benefits all Grant County residents.
“For too long, Grant County real estate owners have seen a sharp rise in their property taxes, even though they receive few benefits from their county,” DeLano said in a press release sent to iFIBER ONE News .
The DeLano campaign recognizes the obligation that the Grant County government has with its stakeholders in providing a return on investment for the money raised in taxes and fees.
“Mr. DeLano would bring years of business experience, experience as a small business owner and solid business training working for a software development company, first in sales and then in management, ”said a press release.
On a personal level, DeLano is married to his 30-year-old wife Evy and they have three children together.
