Ericsson to hire 250 at its Ireland R&D centre
Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) Announces Plans to Hire 250 People at its Irish Research and Development Center at Athlone to support the company’s continued development of innovative native cloud products that orchestrate, automate and drive its global portfolio of 5G.
Highly skilled features, which include opportunities for software developers, data scientists, architects, cloud engineers, and mobile communications at all stages of the career, will be added over the next three years. This project is supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland.
Ericsson, one of Ireland’s largest software development companies, has had a research and development (R&D) presence at Athlone since 1979. The Athlone facility, which is the global headquarters of R&D Ericsson Digital Services OSS (Operations Support Systems) currently employs 1,200 people. developing its OSS and Cloud RAN (Radio Access Network) portfolio. Ericsson employs 200 more at its Dublin base.
