Expert urges Lagos to deploy tech to enhance water transportation


Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology Development and Web Development Team Leader Wasiu Jimoh stressed the need for State Rail Services (LAGFERRY) to implement technology in all areas of its operations to improve the water transport system and impact. positively in the state economy.

Jimoh, during LAGFERRY’s retirement from the theme: “Innovative Water Transport for a 21st Century Economy,” held at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, commissioned the management of LAGFERRY ensure the deployment and application of the latest technologies.

He stressed the need to make an inventory of the existing technological deployment and work to innovate new ideas to improve the provision of services to the sector of the economy.

According to him, an improved water transport system with the latest technologies would have a positive impact on the state’s economy.

Describing the key areas that would improve LAGFERRY’s performance, Jimoh suggested the introduction of a fully automated ticketing system with the best payment solution, the acquisition of energy efficient and real-time monitored ferries, a security system. and very efficient rescue. using CCTV, drones and drones, among others.
