GenCyber Teacher Training Cybersecurity Academy at York College In 2021, York College CUNY received the $ 150,000 GenCyber program funded by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). This prestigious award is the only scholarship of its kind in all of New York City for this cycle period. The program features participants from more than 37 states. GenCyber Teacher Training Cybersecurity Academy, housed at York College, offers high school and high school STEM teachers a professional development program that incorporates cybersecurity concepts into classrooms and extracurriculars.
York’s GenCyber Camp offers teachers the opportunity to learn about the concepts of cybersecurity, technology, First Principles, and GenCyber Concepts. Our curriculum includes fun educational games and activities that use student-centered, problem-based, peer-to-peer learning approaches to engage and empower camp participants. Camp sessions for high school and high school teachers will be held on the York campus in July 2022. The camp is led by Dr. Fenio Annansingh-Jamieson (Program Director), Dr. Thitima Srivatanakul (Senior Instructor, PI), Xin Bai (Instructional Design Expert and Senior Learning Specialist) and Acting Rector Dr. Derrick Brazill.
