Gilstrap Won’t Rearrange Patent Trials To Let Google Go First


By Ryan Davis (May 20, 2022, 8:31 PM EDT) – East Texas District Judge Rodney Gilstrap on Friday refused to consolidate in a single trial the cases against Google, Waze and Samsung for patents for sharing location or hold the first trial of Google, that is, next month will begin a trial against the other two defendants.

Saying that the motions of the three defendants seeking to reschedule the trials in AGIS Software Development LLC’s lawsuits appear to be “nothing more than a veiled attempt to further delay the trial,” the judge denied all three.

Judge Gilstrap rejected his claim that Google’s case could resolve all three lawsuits, given the overlap between them. As a result, cases against Samsung and Google …
