Gloucester ranked among the best UK cities for tech job opportunities
New research has shown that UK regions and cities offer the best opportunities for job seekers looking for a career in coding and software development.
The study, conducted by Code Institute, a provider of online coding courses, looked at the regions and cities in the UK with the most job opportunities for developers, ranking them by a variety of factors, such as the number of sites of work, the percentage of total opportunities in software development. , and average salaries.
The results suggest that Northern Ireland offers the best opportunities for coders, with the highest proportion of coding functions in the country, accounting for 6.2 per cent of available jobs.
Software developers in Northern Ireland see lower salaries than other regions in the UK, but still receive an average of 1.4 times more than other features available in the country, with an average salary of £ 43,690.
In terms of cities, Belfast tops the list, with developer roles accounting for 9% of all jobs offered and paying an average of 1.4 times more than other functions.
Belfast is followed by Cambridge in second place and Gloucester in third place, with technology jobs occupying 6.2 per cent of the city’s global labor market.
At the other end of the scale, Hull was ranked as the fifth worst city for coding opportunities and the worst big city. Only 0.7% of jobs are developers, and these careers pay 1.1 times more than other jobs.
With rising pay for software development in the UK to address the global shortage of ICT skills, Code Institute believes there has never been a better time to learn to program.
Jane Gormley, Director of Careers at the Code InstituteHe said: “As the UK economy becomes more technology-focused, we see certain regions and cities turning into booming technology centers. This is great news for software developers and those who they plan to learn how to program and work. Hunters can target these regions for the best opportunities. “
