Granite Digital acquires e-commerce specialist Willows Consulting

Further planned acquisitions such as Granite consolidate its position as Ireland’s largest independent digital agency


Granite Digital has acquired Willows Consulting, a Dublin-based e-commerce web development specialist. The acquisition will strengthen the e-commerce capabilities of the full-service digital agency Granite and add 120 customers from Ireland, the UK, the US and Asia to its growing customer base.

Under the agreement, Willows Consulting will become a wholly owned subsidiary within the Granite Digital group.

With offices in Cork, Dublin and Galway, Granite has grown to become the largest independent digital agency in Ireland. Its growing customer base includes leading Irish and international brands such as Lidl, Dalata Hotel Group, Bord Bia and Huawei.

Granite forecast a global revenue growth of 25% to 9 million euros in 2022, driven by both organic growth and the acquisition of Willows Consulting, which continues strong growth in 2021, as it increased its annual turnover by more from 20% to 7.3 million euros. This growth has been driven by a strong demand for digital services and consulting, as more and more organizations seek to transform the digital experience that customers offer.

Founded in Dublin in 2002 by Sean Owens and Aine Williams, Willows Consulting provides e-commerce website design and development services to companies of all sizes in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Asia. These include the National Gallery of Ireland, Bord Na Mona, CityJet, Fexco and the FAI. Its open source e-commerce technologies are integrated with a wide range of B2B and B2C e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Prestashop, Magento, OpenCart and BigCommerce, as well as accounting platforms such as Intact, Sage50 / 200, Opera, SAP and Kerridge.

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, Granite is planning new acquisitions. In recent years, Granite has successfully acquired and integrated several digital companies such as Connector, Webtrade, MediaOne and Made Easy Apps. Granite has also hired 20 additional new employees over the past year, including web developers, UX designers, project managers, and performance marketing specialists, growing its team to 80 people.
