How to review your app’s crash logs – Discover
While we all prefer that our applications never crash, logs captured from these errors can help you fix errors and get the app up and running again. If something goes wrong, your app automatically collects error reports from people who have decided to send you anonymous error data. And you can view this data using the Xcode Organizer on your Mac.
Note: While there are several third-party scanning tools that can also provide information about blocked threads when they are incorporated into your application, you may not always be able to see the full back path. In addition, the record you receive may not be in a format that you can send to Apple when you submit feedback.
Here’s how to access full bug reports directly from Xcode and your Mac’s Finder.
Check your application for error logs
There are two ways to view application error logs. The first provides information at a glance, such as the percentage of people who have been injured in an earlier version of iOS, while the other provides a more detailed view of individual bug reports.
- Open Xcode.
- Select Window from the menu bar.
- Go to Organizer> Blogs.
- Choose App Store from the drop-down menu.
Here you can see bug reports for your app builds, including beta versions of TestFlight and versions you’ve released in the App Store. Explore all your bugs at a glance and see the statistics to see how bugs break down between operating system versions and different devices.
And if you want to start resolving issues right away, you can even open a bug report and jump straight to the affected line in Xcode by simply selecting the Open to the project option.
Check your application’s error logs
To check the individual error logs in detail, you will need to activate the power of your control key.
- Control + click about the accident in question.
- Choose Show in Finder.
- In the Finder window, click-control the highlighted .xccrashpoint file.
- Choose Show package contents.
- In the folder that appears, go to DistributionInfos> all> Records.
Inside the Logs folder you will find each individual error report, which you can consult and resolve issues accordingly. You can also use these bug reports when reporting feedback to Apple.
