The trend of low-carbon smart solutions and the jamming of the pain points of the traditional VRF industry are forcing a change in the industry. Gen Sol, GM of Midea KONG Intelligent Building Ltd, introduced the concept of iBuilding solutions. Through big data, IoT, 5G, and other technologies, iBuilding solutions can achieve the interoperability of humans, computers, and space throughout their lifecycle.

Industry consultants explained the problems of the construction industry and VRF. The ventilation holes in the electrical control box of traditional VRFs cause internal damage to the device due to sand, dust, snow, and insects, which is a significant problem in many environments, such as Middle East i Africa. Traditional VRF installation also increases the difficulty of construction and the repair process requires time and cost.

Pere Wu, Chief R&D Engineer of Midea DX Product Company, detailed the innovative exploration of Midea V8 Series VRF from the point of view of quality, design and low carbon emissions. Midea launched the industry’s first fully enclosed electrical control box (ShieldBox) to prevent damage to internal components caused by harsh environments. From an installation point of view, Midea’s self-designed communication chip (HyperLink) performs an arbitrary topology in addition to the traditional method, reducing installation cost and improving installation efficiency. For its operation, the V8 VRF series is equipped with 19 sensors (SuperSense), the most complete range in the industry, which allow an instant diagnosis of the current volume of coolant in the system.

In terms of design, Midea V8 Series VRF introduces a series of side discharge to its outdoor unit, which reduces its occupied spaces and facilitates transport. A diverse range of indoor units is available to meet the demands of increasingly complex indoor spaces, freeing the product from height limitations. In terms of energy saving, Midea V8 Series VRF also takes the lead in conducting direct current in all indoor and outdoor units and has entered the power partition for zoned power management.

Midea V8 Series VRF obtained several Intertek certifications, and V8 also received the gold award for its energy solution at Inventions Geneva 2022. Developing global standards for VRF in zero-emission buildings, Midea aims for a sustainable future.
