National Cyber Security Agency holds awareness workshop
With the aim of fostering a culture of cybersecurity, the National Cybersecurity Agency organized an awareness workshop for young people to increase their level of cyber awareness and equip them with the skills needed to surf the Internet safely. .
The workshop was held in collaboration with the General Authority for Minors.
The initiative is part of the development and cultivation of national cybersecurity capabilities.
It aimed to help minors secure their financial transactions, improve their cyber capabilities, and develop their awareness of digital security and safety.
Dalal al-Aqeedi, director of the National Department of Cyber Excellence, said the National Cyber Security Agency spares no effort to respond to any requests from social entities, ministries or educational institutions that deal with specific community groups and welcomes requests for training and workshops that promote cybersecurity.
He said: “The workshop focused on several pillars, the most important of which are malware, phishing, social engineering and how it penetrates the human mind, safe browsing, social media and applications.”
Iman al-Hamad, a researcher and specialist at the National Cyber Security Agency, explained that the workshop introduced the basics of cybersecurity and offered awareness advice on how to protect personal data.
Students were briefed on the importance of cybersecurity at the national level and the need for collaborative efforts to secure national cyberspace.
Students were encouraged to expand their knowledge in this field through expert guidance.
