Apple’s WWDC opening conference is now just a week away, and while it’s not uncommon for Apple to share news about the upcoming hardware at its developer conference, it’s not the rule either. As for this year’s event, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says we shouldn’t get too excited about the idea of Apple showing off its mixed-reality headphones, but the new MacBook Air is a different fishmonger.

Writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurom of Bloomberg says that while Apple may be showing off its fabulous mixed reality headset, it’s not something we should put our hopes into. Apple has already shown the headphones to board members, suggesting it is nearing an official announcement.

As for the new hardware, we will not see the iPhone 14 with the screen always active until September. And while Apple’s upcoming mixed-reality headset is in full swing, underscored by the recent demonstration of the device at the company’s board, I shouldn’t expect a full presentation for developers and consumers next week. .

But there is more hope for a new MacBook Air, with Gurman pointing out that developers have been watching the device appear in its app for a while. The new machine, which will run on next-generation Apple silicon, could be released for the first time next week.

If there is any hardware in WWDC, it will probably be next to Mac. The company aims to launch the next MacBook Air with M2 chips at the conference. The recent supply chain crisis over Covid-related closures in China has complicated it, but developers say Apple employees are increasingly using next-generation MacBook Air with their apps. This is a sign that the new Mac is near.

An upgraded MacBook Air might be the best Mac for a lot of people, but with Apple continuing to struggle with supply chain issues across its Mac line, it may not be possible to buy one of the new machines. as easy as I would like.

Apple will hold its inaugural WWDC22 conference online next Monday, June 6, and we look forward to seeing iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, tvOS 16 and watchOS 9. All new software will be released later this year, probably in September or in the vicinity.
