SANTA CLARA, Calif .– (BUSINESS THREAD) –What’s new: Mobileye, an Intel company, has released the EyeQ Kit ™, its first software development kit (SDK) for EyeQ® chip system that drives driver assistance and future autonomous technologies for car manufacturers around the world. Designed to take advantage of the powerful and highly energy efficient architecture of the upcoming EyeQ®6 Alt and EyeQ®Ultraprocessors, EyeQ Kit allows automakers to use Mobileye’s proven core technology, while deploying its own differentiated code and human-machine interface tools on the EyeQ platform.

How it works: Using EyeQ hardware and software, automakers have access to a comprehensive set of Mobileye solutions, which include computer vision, REM ™ collective maps, and an RSS-based driving policy. With the EyeQ kit, automakers can further leverage the power of Mobileye’s chip system to enhance the driver’s advanced features with a unique look and feel from their brands. And as the visual demands for interaction and communication between drivers and vehicles become more complex, EyeQ Kit offers automakers a new way to adapt critical information flows. EyeQ Kit will help support features such as surround display, automated lane keeping, and traffic signal recognition using more advanced augmented reality screens.

EyeQ Kit was developed by hundreds of Mobileye engineers leveraging deep experience at Intel and Mobileye, with experts in compilers and development environments such as OpenCL standards, leveraging the compilation frameworks used for intensive computing and deep learning . This approach allows car manufacturers to develop their own applications easily and efficiently. It also opens up the possibility of jointly hosting third-party applications, which reduces the integration costs of other chips.
