Proven Cybersecurity Sales Leader Joins Avocado Systems to Bring Application Security Innovation to Global Organizations
SAN JOSE, California – (BUSINESS THREAD) – Avocado Systems, an application security innovator, today announced the hiring of James Sortino as Director of Revenue. Sortino will lead Avocado’s global sales operations, using its extensive initial experience to scale the company’s business, channel and OEM business worldwide.
Sortino provides varied training in sales and leadership in cybersecurity, having sold more than 31 different security technologies to global companies, small and medium-sized organizations, MSPs, OEMs and the VAR channel. Previously, he held senior positions at Virsec Systems, ShiftLeft, Dome9 Security and TrendMicro, as well as founding a large sales and enterprise security solutions company.
“I’m excited to join Alvocado. Existing application security vendors assume that a company’s security team understands how custom vendor applications work and expand, which is not the case. We are able to give security teams the observability to determine what legitimate processes should be executed in their environment and eliminate architectural drift, “Sortino said. “Avocado solutions are the next step in application security, as they help DevSecOps illuminate unknown communications, automate application architecture modeling and analysis, and apply zero-confidence security limiting application levels to the lowest level of the application process, all without code changes. I think this will be the new standard in the coming years. ”
“We are excited that Jim has joined Avocado. He adds another highly experienced leader to our management team with a strong reputation for delivering high customer value and creating high-performing sales teams,” said Chris Formant. CEO of Avocado. “Jim is passionate about the industry and the role of avocado in shaping his future. It brings an exciting energy to the avocado that we hope will take us to the next level. ”
