Semiconductor company leases space for technology center in Chandler
PHOENIX: An international company based in California is the latest addition to the growing Phoenix subway semiconductor industry.
Yield Engineering Systems, also known as YES, announced Wednesday that it has leased 123,000 square feet in Chandler’s Price Corridor for a “technology center.”
YES “develops and manufactures thermal, deposition and wet process equipment used in semiconductors, life sciences and screen manufacturing,” according to a press release.
The company will use Germann Road’s facilities near Price Road for research and development, clean room operations, manufacturing, customer support and office space.
The technology center will have 100 employees, mostly in technology and engineering jobs.
“Our new technology center will provide us with valuable proximity to key customers and vendors, as well as access to the highly skilled workforce that defines Chandler’s business ecosystem,” YES President Rezwan Lateef said in a statement. .
YES is headquartered in Fremont, California, and has operations in India, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Intel are in the process of building multimillion-dollar microchip production facilities in the valley, which has encouraged other companies in the industry to move to the area.
“The Greater Phoenix semiconductor ecosystem has quickly become a global destination for leading manufacturers such as YES,” Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, said in a statement.
“This multimillion-dollar investment provides high-quality job opportunities for residents, and we look forward to supporting YES in its future growth and successful market integration.”
