UK Government Cybersecurity Advisory Board Applications Now Open


Applications to join the Government’s Cybersecurity Advisory Council are now open.

The UK government’s cybersecurity strategy was launched in January 2022, an initiative aimed at protecting the government from cyberattacks, strengthening the UK’s existence as a sovereign nation and establishing its position as a power. democratic and cybernetic.

The Advisory Board invites the requests of those interested to join, asking applicants to share expressions of interest to connect and play a comprehensive role in shaping the future of cybersecurity. The advisory board will build on the success of the External Challenge Panel, which provided academic and industry perspectives.

The UK Government’s Cybersecurity Advisory Board will bring together experts from government, the private sector and academia, building a bridge between these parties and connecting interests towards a shared vision. The aim of the council is to address and find solutions to the biggest cybersecurity challenges facing the UK.

Eligible participants must be individuals, not organizations, with experience in cybersecurity, whether from industry or academia. Candidates must have professional experience in this field, specifically:

  • Strategy, standards and guarantee of cybersecurity
  • Government, risk and management
  • Delivery of the program
  • Cyberdetection and response
  • Technology
  • Cyber ​​skills and culture

The advisory board will meet once every two months. Meetings will be held virtually, except in the case of August. Sometimes it will be necessary to attend events in London.

Those interested in participating should send a cover letter of no more than 1,000 words to gsgcyber@cabinetoffice.gov.uk. Candidates must share their motivations for joining the advisory board in the cover letter, along with how they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned above and why they fit well.

The deadline to apply for advisory board is June 6, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.
