UW Extended Campus expands reach of coding and data analytics boot camps across the UW System

MADISON, Wis. — People with coding and data analytics skills are in high demand in Wisconsin. For example, the employment prospects of web developers in the state alone are expected to grow by 9.1% by 2028, well above the average demand elsewhere. And now more than ever, adult students are turning to universities for the training they need in the modern digital economy.

UW Extended Campus has been offering successful coding and data analysis training courses since 2019 and is announcing an expansion of its partnership. UW Oshkosh, UW-Green Bay, UW-Stout and UW-Madison have teamed up with UW Extended Campus to collaboratively offer both innovative programs, with UW-Milwaukee as an additional partner in the coding training camp.

With nearly 200 graduates so far, this collaboration will expand the scope of these training camp offerings throughout the University of Wisconsin system and help meet the growing needs of the workforce.

Coding Boot Camp students will develop a variety of key front and back web development skills, such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, progressive web applications, agile methodology, computer science, database theory, MongoDB, MySQL, Git and more.

The Boot Camp Data Analysis focuses on developing students ’skills in core statistics, Python programming, MySQL, Tableau, Hadoop, machine learning, as well as web viewing skills in areas such as Bootstrap, CSS, HTML and Leaflet.js .

Both training camps are offered online for 24 weeks. Students work individually and as a team to apply skills to real-world projects. These projects can be used as a portfolio to showcase their knowledge to potential employers.

Students benefit from additional support both inside and outside the virtual classroom through a network of instructors, tutors, and peers, as well as a dedicated career director to help you develop soft skills and professional materials. Together, students map out a career path that combines existing experience with the skills they gain through the training ground and work to achieve career goals and be competitive for employers. Graduates also have access to a network of industry partners and alumni of the program to help improve their professional success.

The training camps are powered by Trilogy Education Services, a 2U brand, Inc.

Students interested in enrolling in Coding Boot Camp or Data Analytics Boot Camp can call 414-316-6526 for more information and get started.
